Description
Mediatonic is a rapidly evolving independent games development studio focusing on premium web games. Based in the heart of the West End, our experienced team of 20 produce high quality games on a range of platforms from Facebook to the PSP.
Working as part of our development team, you'll be building Flash games that will be played by millions across the world.
This is a full time paid position based in our London office. It is a placement position for 1 year starting in the Summer of 2010.
Things you'll have to do
- Take an active role in concept brainstorms
- Work closely within a team to build complex, high quality Flash games.
- Accurately estimate time necessary to complete projects
- Self-manage your tasks and time
- Take sole responsibility for the development of Flash games, widgets and applications
- Work with other developers in a team on large applications
- Write clear, consistent code in an OOP format
Things that are necessary
- Good experience with AS3 and working with OOP
- Knowledge of good programming practices
- Have previously written programs in actionscript
- Able to work independently and come up with innovative solutions to problems
Things that are desirable
- Knowledge of Flash animation
- Able to use AS3 to a high standard

- Keen to develop your existing skills, on real world projects
- Passionate about gaming, playing games and creating them
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
Assessment criteria
Candidates will be assessed primarily on the strength of their portfolio and CV. Successful applicants will be invited to an interview at Mediatonic (usually with a Company Director) and on some occasions a second interview will be held before a final decision is made.
