The Mediatonic Christmas Decoration competition has made a comeback for 2009! Each set of desks in the office were challenged with decorating their desk and immediate surroundings. All teams had a budget of 25 and a total time of 1 hour to decorate their area with the clock starting at 1.30pm on the 1st of December.

As part of the challenge we had to think up a 'team name' for our desk space, displayed in a creative way in our area.

The team with the best desk was promised to be awarded super awesome prizes, presented at the upcoming MT Christmas party. Teams are as follows:

Desk 1: Paul, Jeff, Vicki - "Miracle on 4 Flitcroft St"

Desk 2: Adam F, Jim, Pankaj, Tom, Dean - "Arnold Schwarzenegger in Jingle All the Way"

Desk 3: Mike, Ross, Gabor, Vickie, Phil - "Marzipan Lions"

Desk 4: Sarah, Jon, Gareth, Adam - "Team Ceiling Cat"

Desk 5: Shabeer, Julius - "Army of Two"

The judging criteria are: - Team name - Quality - Creativity - Awesomeness

After over an hour of lunchtime madness full of cellotape, PVA glue, tinsel, lights, glitter, baubles, blue tack, tacky-ness, Christmas trees, cardboard, snowflakes and LOTS of fun, these are the results of our hyper-super-mega awesome Xmas decoration extravaganza.

Team 1, Miracle on 4 Flitcroft Street

Team 1 opted for a rainbow made of baubles as their centerpiece, finishing off their desks and surrounding areas with tinsel, lights and trimmings.

Team 2, Arnold Schwarzenegger in Jingle All the Way

With plenty of custom made decorations including a special Must.Eat.Birds mobile, paper chains and a wall covered in post in notes, Team 2 went all out in their bid for Christmas Glory.

Team 3, Marizpan Lions

The Marizpan Lions roared into action at lunchtime, running to the shops for some last minute preparation before putting up an eclectic mix of decorations that included a hanging reindeer, pink christmas tree, a house made of gingerbread and a golden praying mantis.

Team 4, Team Ceiling Cat

Above the desk of team 4 ceiling cat gazes down approvingly on their enormous Christmas tree, complete custom baubles, MC Hammer with a lightning bolt and a special Christmas bananna.

Team 5, Army of Two

The Army of Two went for elegance and simplicity with a beautiful pink Christmas tree surrounded by snow.
