It's that time of the week again, and we're going to update our blog with some more insights into the characters of our up and coming game, Steamweavers. This will be the last in the series! We hope that you've enjoyed reading them up until now.
The previous blog entries on Steamweavers can be accessed here:
The final blog of the series will be focussed on the Golden Sands, where Gauge travels to in our story in pursuit of Skull.

The Golden Sands
The Golden Sands lie far to the east and are inhabited by a fierce and proud nation. The cities of the Golden Sands are massively rich and grand. There is an Arabic feel to them, with the sweeping, bulbous domes to the towers.
The golden sand-raiders are opulent and their warrior princess commands one of the most impressive fleets of airships in the land. Zeppelins dot the sky in the distance, as do versions of the other various flying units.
The towers are built into the dunes themselves (see Golden Sands image), with banners and flags lapping in the breeze. Sand carried by the wind obscures some of the city, so there are partially opaque swathes of sand painted over the scene.
Gauge encounters the Sandsmen late in her travels. Although there is no love lost between their nations at the best of times, events have been twisted even farther by the time they meet and her battles against this powerful and unusual combination of warriors in their unfamiliar desert homeland are some of the most challenging in the game.

Origins: Agonista
The leader of the Sandsmen is Princess Agonista Telkari who excels in air battles through her command of airships. She is strong-willed to the point of outright viciousness - having inherited the kingdom as a teenage girl, she had to fight incessantly to earn the respect of the proud and powerful men of the nation of Sand, in addition to fending off attacks from the outside realms. These trials have made her tough and canny, and she has quiet respect for Gauge and her determination to see out her quest.

"My friends call me Agony. The funny thing? So do my enemies."
Origins: Ingot
Ingot D'Aurelio is Agonista's most powerful lieutenant. A brutal warrior-turned-merchant whose connections and wealth allow him to generate money quickly, or receive discounts on troops built in his factories, he is a force to be reckoned with. Ingot takes delight in playing with people's preconceptions - on the outside he appears to be a typical fat and jolly merchant - but much of his bulk is muscle swaddled and hidden by cloth. His eyes shine with laughter at the smallest joke but when they narrow and glint there have been many enemies of the Golden Sands who have realised they may have misjudged their foe...

"Never take things at face value! If it looks gold - bite it first! If it's hard and metallic, then it's gold and you're rich! If it's gritty and sandy, then it's sand... and you're an idiot."
Agonista is the leader of the Golden Sands warrior class, and also the closest thing the Kingdom has to a princess, but there is nothing extravagant or fancy in the way she is dressed, which is like a hardened fighter used to a rough life on the sands. Only her bearing and demeanour would give her noble heritage away.
She is a fierce and stunning platinum blonde with her hair tied into a very long, sinuous ponytail secured with a large, simple golden band. Her hair sweeps to one side of her body, over the right shoulder, swirling up as if caught in the wind and curling around her body and waist.

Ingot is a large, corpulent pirate warrior from the Golden sands.
He has a bald head, covered with a silken yellow bandana. His mouth is covered with a respirator to protect him against the harsh sandy winds in the desert. We cannot see his mouth, but his eyes are laughing.
He stands with one hand on his hip, and the other holding his ripper-detector sword over his shoulder. This sword is like a massive twin-blade electric carving knife that ends in an elegant swoop. Each of the twin blades is very light and thin, meaning it can be swung quickly despite its lightness.

To close this blog, here is a video of Agonista being rendered by Gareth.
